“Tacticus” gives us a peak into was happening “on the ground” at the end of the Rift Saga and answers certain key questions left up in the air at the end of Legacy. This Novella has an interesting structure, making for a great read, and offers a surprising insight into the mind of one of the series main characters. Although Tacticus could be read as a stand alone novella, I highly recommend reading the entire series.
Full disclosure I was given a ARC copy to proof read prior to release.
First, while this can stand on its own, it's really a companion book to the Rift Saga and will make more sense if those have already been read first. And if you're read & enjoyed them, you will likely enjoy this as well, as it fills in a part of the end of that story, from the point of view of a Tacticus who's found that he's been served up a soup sandwich in the war...
If you've not discovered Andreas Christensen, you're missing out. This is a companion story to a much larger world in the RIFT SAGA books. This story can be read without having read the other books, and you'll be satisfied with the read. I do recommend you read the other books, you truly are missing out on a great plot line. Story takes place hundreds of years after a disaster that alters earth as we know it. Two countries, always on the brink of war, are about to face off. This is the story of one team of soldier as they get ready to face their hardest battle yet.
Not a stand-alone story. I liked It but thought it might have been better worked into the main story to give more depth to the characters.
Enjoyed book. Looking forward to new series. Like his style of writing. Keep up the good work. Fight for freedom.
This book filled in where the war begin and ended with the moon people against the people who stayed on earth.
In my opinion, the best book written so far from the author. Bravo! However I'm not so sure the war is really over.
